Director General of Religious Affairs, Mr. Ibrahim Nadara, Visits Somali School for the Deaf

On January 1, 2025 (corresponding to 1st of Rajab 1446), the Director General of the Ministry of Religious and Islamic Affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Ibrahim Nadara, visited the Somali National Deaf Schools (SONAD).

Mr. Nadara was warmly received at the school by officials from the Somali National Association of the Deaf (SONAD), led by the Association’s Chairman, Mr. Osman Mohamed Nur. The event was also attended by the Vice Chairman and Head of Sports for the Deaf, Dr. Mohamed Osman Muhiadin (Burci), the Association’s Secretary, Ust. Muse Hassan Ahmed, and the school’s principal, Ms. Hamdi Ahmed.

During his visit, the Director General pledged the provision of five teachers specializing in Quranic studies and Islamic education to support hearing-impaired students. This initiative aims to address the challenges these students face in learning Arabic and Islamic studies, ensuring greater accessibility and quality education.
