Mogadishu, October 27, 2025 – Salmurux News — The Governor of Banaadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), today officially received two modern fire trucks from the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The donation aims to strengthen the city’s emergency response capacity, particularly in tackling fires in high-rise buildings and densely populated areas across the Somali capital.
This support forms part of the long-standing cooperation between the Federal Government of Somalia and the UAE, focused on improving public safety, sanitation, and firefighting services in Mogadishu.
A Step Forward in Mogadishu–Abu Dhabi Partnership
Governor Dr. Muungaab expressed deep gratitude to the Government and People of the UAE for their continuous support to the Somali people. He described the donation as a promising start to broader cooperation between the two capitals, Mogadishu and Abu Dhabi, in key development and humanitarian areas.
“We highly appreciate the UAE’s ongoing assistance to Somalia. This step marks the beginning of an expanded partnership that will enhance public services and emergency response capabilities in Mogadishu,” said Dr. Muungaab.
High-Level Officials Attend the Handover Ceremony
The handover ceremony was attended by the Federal Minister of Interior, Hon. Ali Yusuf Ali (Xoosh), along with several senior officials from both the Federal Government of Somalia and the Banaadir Regional Administration.
Speakers at the event emphasized that this donation underscores the strong bilateral relations and strategic cooperation between Somalia and the UAE in support of the reconstruction and development of the country.
