Puntland Announces the Killing of 8 Foreign Fighters Supporting ISIS

Additional reports have surfaced regarding the battle that took place in Dharjaale, located in the Bari region, between Puntland State forces and militants from the ISIS group entrenched in the Al-Miskaad mountains.

The clash began after one of Puntland’s military outposts was targeted by a vehicle loaded with explosives, triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire between the two sides.

A spokesperson for Puntland forces confirmed that eight foreign fighters affiliated with the militant group were killed during the confrontation. He further stated that ISIS militants suffered significant losses in the battle.

Videos shared by Puntland soldiers on social media show the bodies of individuals alleged to be foreign fighters who died during the clash earlier that morning.

In recent days, Puntland State has been mobilizing a large-scale military campaign aimed at liberating the Bari region and surrounding areas under its administration from the control of ISIS and Al-Shabaab militants.
