President Hassan Sheikh Holds a Critical Meeting with the President of Djibouti

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held an official meeting with his Djiboutian counterpart, H.E. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, at the Presidential Palace in Djibouti.

The meeting, attended by senior officials from both governments, focused on strengthening the deep-rooted ties between Somalia and Djibouti, addressing regional issues, and enhancing cooperation and solidarity between the two nations.

President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh reaffirmed Djibouti’s unwavering commitment to supporting Somalia’s state-building efforts. He also highlighted Djibouti’s ongoing initiatives to promote peace, security, and stability in Somalia.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, for his part, discussed the achievements of the African Union Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), noting the transition to a new interim operation named AUSSOM. This initiative aims to ensure that Somalia’s national armed forces assume full responsibility for the country’s security within a short period.
